Polypropylene-based stand-up pouches are recyclable and completely eco-friendly.

Paper

Paper offers many distinct benefits over plastics for manufacturing of stand-up food pouches.

Paper is more lightweight and provides greater cost-effectiveness compared to plastics.

It reduces the cost of packaging and also the cost of distribution as a greater volume of products can be shipped to the retail shelves using the same fuel.

Paper is also completely recyclable and biodegradable and is environmentally friendly.

Recycling of paper requires much lesser energy than the recycling of plastics.

Paper made food pouches also give a minimalistic and elegant feel.

Paper food pouches are commonly used to store food items like tea, coffee, snacks, spices etc.

Considerations for Designing Coffee Bags

Coffee bags are key drivers of sales. A well-designed coffee bag helps to build brand awareness and customer loyalty.

Some of the key considerations in designing coffee bags are discussed below:

Protective Packaging

Coffee is highly sensitive to getting spoiled when subjected to moisture and oxygen.

The coffee bags should be designed using materials which have excellent barrier properties and protect the packaged coffee from external elements.

Brands are incorporating a degassing valve which lets the CO2 out of the bags once the coffee has been roasted.

For the degassing valve to work, the coffee bags should be packaged using a heat sealer.

The degassing valves provide effective protection against moisture, oxygen, UV light etc.

The packaging bags should also have barriers to provide better protection.

Minimalistic and Elegant Designing

The coffee packaging bags are adopting a minimalistic and elegant designing pattern.

The elegant design gives them a more premium and sophisticated feel to the coffee and drives the customers towards making the purchase decision.

The packaging should also promote the storytelling of the brand.

Coffee bags should be consistent in their packaging with the branding strategy of the company.

If the brand has a specific color then the packaging should make use of the same colors to increase brand awareness and recognition.

Use of bright and bold colors to attract customer’s attention is another popular trend in the coffee packaging.

Helpful Labeling

Labeling on the coffee bags should add value to the product and also assist the customers in getting a better picture of the brand and enabling them in purchasing the coffee.

Important information like the country of origin, date of roasting, the altitude of coffee sourced from etc. should be clearly mentioned on the labels.

Informed coffee customers can decide the taste of the coffee from its country of origin.

Similarly, the roast date indicates the freshness of the packaged coffee and helps the customers to purchase only the fresh coffee.

This information on the labels should be free of any background noise so that the customers can easily spot and read them.

Convenience and Utility

Coffee bags should provide convenience and utility to the customers. The packaging should allow the customers to easily open it and access the coffee.

Another important feature is to design resealable coffee bags. Features like ziplock and resealing options can be incorporated into the coffee bags to add utility.

The customers can reseal the coffee bag after using the coffee by using the resealable ziplock feature.

This keeps the coffee fresh for longer. The coffee bags can also be designed to provide the option of being reused after the coffee is finished.

These utility features can have a positive impact on customers and drive sales.

Eco-Friendly Packaging

Coffee brands the world over are moving towards eco-friendly packaging.

The customers are becoming more conscious of such packaging and prefer recyclable packaging over traditional non-recyclable ones.

The government regulations also force the coffee brands to use eco-friendly packaging which does not pose any threat to the environment.

The coffee bags should, therefore, be made from materials which are completely recyclable.

Reducing the environmental footprints and using green packaging also projects a positive image of the brand among the customers which can be a key driver for sales and brand loyalty.
